Stawberry picking and Andrew just being a boy!

So I decided to go stawberry picking with a friend of mine and our kids. Andrew was having a great time picking and he was being so good, but then all of sudden he turned on me, and it set the stage for the rest of the day. Well Andrew's bucket was just about full but then, I noticed that he was squishing the strawberries between his fingers as he was putting them into the bucket. His hands were as red as the strawberries. So then I had to go through his bucket and sory the good from the bad. So then he needed to pick some more, but before I knew it he was throwing them all back into the leaves just like I was doing to the bad ones, so then we needed to pick even more. Then before I knew it Andrew was taking bites of them before he got them into the bucket. We did have a ton of fun even though the concept was a bit difficult for Andrew. He did do good though finding them. I would defintely go do that again with him! So the rest of my day didn't get to much better. For lunch Andrew decided it would be funny to suck up a big piece of pasta up his nose. By the time I got to him there was nothing left of it for me to try to pull it back out. I then got a cloth and told him to blow his nose and luckily the entire piece came back out. I think Megan laughing at him always has something to do with some of his behavior lately. He never pulled that stunt at lunch when it was just me and him. Then for dinner, Andrew was determined he wanted some of the juice I put on the table in his sippy cup. I kept telling him he needed to wait till we were eating, so he didn't drink to much before dinner. Andrew, then decided that he wasn't going to wait and as I had my back turned to him cooking, he climbed up on the kitchen chair, grabbed the juice, and poured himself a cup of it. What he wasn't realizing was that his cup was full and he was continuing to poor it everywhere. By the time I turned around he had about half of the container of juice everywhere. I kept yelling for him to stop, but I think I was scaring him to the point that he was just pouring it more. Needless to say it took me about 15 minutes to clean up all the juice, and by that time dinner was cold. Yikes!!! What a day! Andrew is proving to me everyday that I need to be a step ahead of him. I just wish had the energy to do that!

Water Works and Father's Day!

So it has been really, really hot lately, so the kids have spent most of the time outside playing in the water. Two days ago we also made a trip to the splash park to cool off. Andrew is at a perfect age now to just be able to run around and just enjoy everything. Last year he wasn't really steady on his feet, and I was always a nervous wreck following him around. We have also been visiting the free movies every week. Last week we watched the Bee Movie, and he did pretty good sitting there, but towards the end he got real bored. Then this last week we took Megan's friend with us, and watched Firehouse Dog. Andrew sat through the entire thing without hardly moving. I just sat there and smiled and thought to myself. "I have arrived"!!!! I have waited a long time to be able to just take Andrew some where, and be able to sit there in peace for almost 2 hours. He is such a good boy!!! Now remember that I have said that when you are reading my post from yesterday. That day, I had a completely different opion.

Daddy and Andrew having a race!

On father's day we went to a park for dinner and then played soem frisbee golf with my entire family! Here is a picture of some of the kids at the end of our adventure. We had a very good time!

Summer Fun At Home!

We have been having a blast outside everyday that it is nice! The other day, I had plans to have my friend Kim and her son Matthew over for a playdate for Andrew, and I then had my three nephews over for awhile as well. It was a lot of kids, but also a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of our day.

I have to be honest, I have been spending some time trying to learn the settings on my camera, and I also have been spending some time learning photoshop. I love how this last picture turned out. I went out last week and took some senior pictures for my daughter Alisha, and I have to admit I have become a bit obsessed with photography. I will post those at a different time but for now here is a little teaser.

Church in the park and the kids having fun washing daddy's truck!

We had church at the park today. What a great time it was. We started off with a service, and right after we had a cookout, and just had some fun! Alisha sings with the band at church, and sometimes she is asked to sing a song that she has written. My brother, who is the pastor of the church called Alisha and asked her if she had a song about forgiveness. She didn't but by the next day she wrote one. I'm always amazed of her talent and ability.

Well Megan and Andrew thought it would be fun to help dad wash his truck. Here are the pictures of their fun. Be sure to watch the video also. Take note how Andrew finally started spraying water in the bucket, and as soon as his dad said he was going to be right back and he went around the truck he sprayed Megan. He then continued to act up until right before Cain came around the other side of the truck. Cain had no idea he was acting up the entire time. It was great to get it all on video. You can see how Andrew loves to pick on Megan when he can. Those to either love each other or hate each other.

Slideshow of Alisha's Journey to Kyrgyzstan!

I put together a slideshow from my daughters trip to Kyrgyzstan for my church to see a few weeks ago. So many people from our church helped support her, and we wanted to make sure they all were able to see what she accomplished while there. The slideshow is above this post if you want to check it out. I personally was jealous of her trip, because I want to go back there myself one day, but the time is not now, because my responsibilities are of being a mom to my little Kyrgz boy and his sisters. It was wonderful to see my daughter make a difference in their lives, and I'm convinced that each one of my children need to experience something like this trip Alisha went on, before they leave my house. Thank you to anyone of you out there that have helped. Without the support she had, her journey would of not been possible.

Summer Is Here!

So summer has finally arrived, or at least I can say summer break has arrived. We are still awaiting for the nice weather. Usually we kick off summer break with a visit to the pool, but this year we visited the zoo. Here are some pictures from the last week.

This last weekend Megan, Andrew and I went to the outlet mall by our house. A year ago they put in this train that takes you all around the property, so I thought it would be fun for Andrew to get a ride on it. It lasted about 15 min. He loved it!

On Tuesday, Alisha, her boyfriend, Andrew and I all joined Megan for her field trip at a putt, putt and go kart place. It was a fun day aside of the fact that it was a bit chilly!

Megan on the go karts. Yeah! She is finally tall enough!

Alisha and her boyfriend on the go karts. Alisha did everything in her power to get in front of him, but she never could!

Megan and her friends eating lunch. I'm very sad for Megan. She has been going to a private school since preschool, and nextyear we will be making a transition to our local public school. I know it is the right decision for her, but I hate to see her leave her friends. It wouldn't of mattered though even if she went back because most of her friends are starting public school next year to. I'm sure she will be fine, but sometimes change is hard.
Andrew, waiting for his turn at the batting cages. I think he will be waiting a long time!
My Megan got Honor Roll this year. I'm so proud of her. Things don't come so easy for Megan, and she has to work real hard for her good grades, so I'm especially proud of her. Alisha has also done very well this year. Alisha did post secondary, which means college in high school.
Even though she was a junior this year in high school, she completed her first year of college. She made the deans list post sememsters. She is hoping to have her 2 first years of college done by the time she graduates next year. I'm very, very proud of her as well.

Andrew really enjoys helping me at home. As long as I include him in what I'm doing, I can usually get most of my chores done around the house.

He also loves to help me cook and bake!

So today we visited the zoo. Here are the great pictures we got! Here is Megan with her friends!

Here I am with my good friend Mary!

I'm not sure if anyone in the world has a picture of a jelly fish with sunglasses!

This is how I felt by the end of the day, but I never get to nap!
